Terms & Conditions
Acceptance of Terms
By approving a quote, paying a deposit, submitting files, or authorizing production, the client agrees to these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply unless a different written agreement is signed or accepted by Stone Lotus atelier.
Custom Work and Made-to-Order Items
Most Stone Lotus atelier work is custom-made to the client's specifications. Because custom work is created specifically for one client, refunds, exchanges, and cancellations are limited once design, setup, material preparation, or production has begun.
Quotes and Pricing
Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Prices are based on the files, quantity, materials, finish, delivery method, and project information available at the time of quoting. Changes to the model, quantity, dimensions, material, colour, finish, deadline, or delivery requirements may require a revised quote.
Deposits and Payment
Orders over $100 may require a 50% deposit before production begins. The remaining balance is due before pickup, delivery, or shipment unless otherwise agreed in writing. Unpaid balances may delay release of completed work.
Client Files and Intellectual Property
The client confirms that they own, created, licensed, or otherwise have permission to use any model, drawing, logo, artwork, file, or reference material supplied to Stone Lotus atelier. The client is responsible for ensuring supplied material does not infringe copyright, trademark, design, patent, or other rights.
File Quality and Printability
Client-supplied files must be printable or reasonably repairable. Stone Lotus atelier may identify obvious printability issues, but is not responsible for hidden design flaws, incorrect dimensions, weak geometry, non-manifold models, missing tolerances, or functional design problems in client-supplied files.
Proofs, Approvals, and Revisions
The client is responsible for reviewing and approving proofs, dimensions, spelling, text, logos, orientation, colour choices, quantity, material selection, and finish requirements before production. Once approved, changes may require a revised quote and additional charges.
Materials and Intended Use
Material recommendations are provided in good faith based on available information. The client is responsible for determining whether a printed item is suitable for its intended use unless Stone Lotus atelier has expressly agreed in writing to meet a specific performance requirement.
Timelines and Delays
Completion dates are estimates unless specifically confirmed as firm deadlines in writing. Delays may occur due to file issues, print failure, equipment maintenance, material availability, revision requests, curing or finishing time, shipping delays, or circumstances outside our control.
Print Failures and Reprints
If a print fails due to a production error by Stone Lotus atelier, we will reprint it at no additional charge. If failure is caused by client-supplied design problems, incorrect specifications, unsuitable material choice requested by the client, or changes after approval, additional charges may apply.
Cancellations and Refunds
If a project is cancelled before production begins, any refund may be reduced by design, file repair, setup, consultation, administrative, or material costs already incurred. If a project is cancelled after production begins, the deposit may be partially or fully non-refundable. Completed approved custom work is not refundable unless the item is defective due to a production error by Stone Lotus atelier.
Defects, Reprints, and Remedies
Any concern with a completed item must be reported within 7 days of pickup or delivery, with photos and a description of the issue. If the issue is due to our production error, our remedy may be repair, reprint, partial refund, or refund, at our discretion.
Pickup, Delivery, Shipping, and Abandoned Orders
Completed orders must be picked up or paid for within 30 days of notification unless other arrangements are made. Items left unpaid or uncollected for more than 60 days may be considered abandoned. Shipping charges, delivery arrangements, and risk of loss during shipping should be confirmed before shipment.
Repeatable Project Pricing
For repeatable projects such as keytags, coasters, and similar recurring items, the quoted per-unit price will be honoured for repeat orders placed within six months of the most recent order, provided the design, material, size, colour, finish, quantity basis, and production requirements remain unchanged. Any changes to the project specifications, requested turnaround, materials, finishing, or file preparation requirements may require a revised quote. After six months, repeat orders may be re-quoted based on current production costs and shop rates.
3D Printing Limitations and Tolerances
3D printed parts may show layer lines, seams, support marks, minor colour variation, surface texture, small dimensional variation, and other characteristics normal to the printing process. Unless specifically agreed in writing, prints are not guaranteed to meet engineering, mechanical, food-safe, medical, electrical, child-safety, load-bearing, outdoor, heat-resistant, or regulatory requirements. General dimensional tolerance is approximately +/- 0.3 mm or +/- 1%, whichever is greater, unless a specific tolerance is agreed in writing.
Portfolio Use and Confidentiality
Unless the client requests otherwise in writing, Stone Lotus atelier may photograph completed work for portfolio, social media, marketing, or record keeping purposes. We will not knowingly publish confidential client information or private files.
Refused or Prohibited Work
Stone Lotus atelier may refuse projects involving weapons, illegal items, regulated items, counterfeit goods, hate symbols, unsafe functional parts, or files that appear to infringe another party's rights.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stone Lotus atelier is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost business, installation costs, or damage caused by misuse of printed items.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.
